Thin Client

Thin Clients - access the WEB / Cloud

Part 1 - The end user bit:

Implementing a Cloud based application or web based working environment is often part of the solution, but never the entire one. When implementing a cloud based strategy companies need to finish off what they start..

How can the information be accessed?  from a PC or Laptop, iPAD, Smart phone what are the business requirements?

Often comanies continue to access their information using PC's, consuming 120 Watts of power, requiring the same upkeep and maintenance as before and needing the same software installed and having to be replaced every 3 / 4 years?

Thin Clients, running on 5 watts power, with no moving parts, ram or Hard drive. To replace one - plug one out and the next one in, no setup, reconfiguration or maintenance required. Also no security issues, no AV, all centrally managed and remotely supported....

Who needs an IT Team or support engineers when you can swap out the unit yourself?

Choosing the correct thin client and implementation is possibly more important that what virtual server to implement. The speed, Power consumption, application compatibility, maintenance and the cost all need to be taken into account. What OS is supported, what printers work with the solution, will Citrix be used, do we need Microsoft licenses? what server specification is required, what server capacity is required?

What are the cost benefits and ROI? How you can justify the spend...

Let Radius make the case for you, all we ask is give us the opportunity at providing the solution.

Part 2 - The Cloud Bit

The cloud has been around a while, Radius technologies have been moving client applications to the Internet for the past 8 years, once it became cost effective and the access infrastructure caught up. In short Cloud hosting can be broken into -

  • you provide the hardware / servers and get a data centre to host it for you,
  • or you rent space or a full server (either physical or virtual) from a service provider.

Radius do both, depending on cost, access requirements and your expansion plans.

Radius provides the following cloud / hosting services:
